It's not abortion. Or Palestine. Or even Howard Dean. In fact, all of those topics fall by the wayside and out of the discussion whenever the Big Issue raises its head. Blood boils. Passion rages, pitting blogger against blogger in a seething conflict that threatens to rend the very fabric of Kos...
We asked several people, on both sides of the issue, and as you can expect, responses were pretty inflammatory. More sensitive readers may wish to use their browser's back button before reading further. User names have been changed for reasons of privacy and the respondents' safety.
"colored boxes should be banned, period," huffed Kosaholic. "And so should anybody who uses them. It is terrorism, pure and simple."
"I kind of like them," Kosmetique confided shyly. "I mean, how does a little color hurt anybody?"
"I may not agree with the website," Col. Kosarific (Ret.) looked around to make sure people were listening. "But I support the design. And colored boxes are disrespectful to the designer's sacrifice and service. He's risking carpal tunnel for you, what kind of message does it send to go messing with colored boxes?"

It's just not something I think kos - or the internet - is ready for."
"yeah, the colored boxes, I dunno, they kind of remind me of Jane Fonda on the tank. Just something really creepy about it. Kosophobe peered closely at our clipboard."Why are you asking me this?"
"Colors? I adore them!" exclaimed Kosalishus. "That is what is wrong with the world today, if you ask me, and I believe you did. Not enough color! Do you know there are people who are suffering from depression and the doctors tell them the cause is sheer lack of adornment in their environment? Bring em on, I say! Hell yes, borders, too! This is LIFE we are talking about here. Hello!"
"sorry, it is just not how I was raised. Everybody has their beliefs, I guess, but I believe that gray boxes are the One True Way to display quoted text, and I'm not ashamed of that and I don't think I should have to defend it. Why are we always being persecuted? Why doesn't anybody ever do a diary about anti-grayboxism? Can you answer that?" Kosocrat was still talking as we walked away
